Assistant to Maintenance Property Manager / Self Storage Manager

Full-Time | North Fort Worth | Major Medical Insurance Provided

Family-owned Commercial Real Estate Company based in Fort Worth is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Assistant to support our Maintenance Property Manager / Self Storage Manager.

This position is located at our Self Storage facility in North Fort Worth and offers a casual, family-like work environment.

Schedule

  • Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Monday: Half-day, flexible (to be discussed after hiring)

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and major medical insurance.

Key Responsibilities

Self Storage Operations

  • Manage day-to-day Self Storage operations, including phone calls, emails, website, and social media inquiries.
  • Rent storage units, collect payments, handle deposits, and manage collections for past-due accounts.
  • Open and close the office, maintain regular office hours, and keep the facility clean and organized.
  • Drive and inspect Self Storage and Truck & Trailer lots to verify locks, occupancy, and property condition.
  • Serve past-due notices, handle tenant issues, and oversee auction preparations when needed.
  • Monitor and update the self storage website by coordinating with vendors for changes or updates.
  • Market storage services through Craigslist, social media, and outreach to nearby businesses, apartments, and neighborhood associations.
  • Show units or parking spaces when the Manager is unavailable.
  • Review and manage security footage for reported incidents.

Maintenance & Property Management

  • Facilitate repairs and maintenance at company properties by assigning work orders to vendors or in-house handymen.
  • Assist in Managing vendors and contractors performing construction, finish-out, and repairs for RDS.
  • Communicate with commercial tenants regarding maintenance and repairs.
  • Handle and track invoices from vendors, approving and submitting them for payment.
  • Visit other properties as needed for inspections or follow-ups.
  • Coordinate evictions and deliver notices to tenants.
  • Handle minor maintenance tasks (changing filters, hanging signs/banners, minor repairs).
  • Be available for occasional after-hours emergencies (e.g., alarms, gate malfunctions).

Administrative Support

  • Prepare and submit monthly reports for the Controller and Accounting departments across multiple locations.
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets for occupancy, unit efficiency, and other operational data.
  • Perform filing, bookkeeping, and clerical work as needed at headquarters.
  • Prepare bank deposits and purchase office supplies.
  • Assist with bids, pay applications, and documentation for construction projects.
  • Support management with spreadsheets and reports related to taxes, construction scopes, budgets, and loan or investment projects.
  • Attend meetings at headquarters as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior work experience is required (we cannot consider applicants with no work history).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially in Excel.
  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
