Part Time

The Sensory Playce Gym for Kids, provides children with disabilities daily access to specialized equipment, social interaction, and learning opportunities.

Looking to fill a very part time role starting ASAP. Shifts on Wednesday 2pm - 6:30pm. Must be available to work during these hours. Additional hours on Saturday and Sundays as needed. Preference given to applicant willing to help cover additional shifts as needed.

The Front Desk/Gym Attendant is responsible for greeting, checking in and collecting payment from customers for admission, memberships and retail sales, as well as performing routine clerical and administrative duties. The Front Desk/Gym Attendant is responsible for monitoring customer use of equipment to ensure orderly operations and providing routine cleaning of equipment and facility.

Must be comfortable working independently and a self-starter. Perfect job for college student and provides the ability to work on homework during down time.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the Front Desk/Gym Attendant position.

• Greets customers and answer questions, in person and by telephone.
• Ensure liability waivers are complete by all customers prior to gym entrance.
• Collect payment and make accurate change for retail merchandise, entrance fees and memberships fees.
• Assists with administrative tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Stock shelves, counters or tables with merchandise.
• Stamp, mark or tag prices on merchandise.
• Balance and record amount of cash in register and total sales at the end of each shift.
• Provides customer assistance as needed.
• Provides instruction to customers in the proper use of the equipment. Monitor gym to ensure smooth flow of customers and ensure gym rules and safety standards are followed.
• Performs routine cleaning of equipment and facility.
• Documents and reports all accidents and incidents in the gym. Document and report all equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to manager.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience working with disabled Children. Such experience may be obtained through personal experience, volunteer or paid work.

Work Environment

This job operates in a kid's gym designed to meet the needs of those with disabilities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and operates in an environment made up of specialized gym equipment, such as swings, trampolines, climbing structure, and zip line. Exposure to disruptive and potentially aggressive children is a possibility.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
