Pay: $ $24.00 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.

  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; refill restroom dispensers.

  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.

  • Clean hard surface floors with provided equipment, and shampoo carpets.

  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.

  • May use ladders when required in work assignments.

  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings, secure buildings when facilities are not in use, check for unlocked doors and windows, turn off lights and report any unauthorized occupants .

  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed and maintain and keep record of all safety data sheets.

  • Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.

  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.

  • Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.

  • Keep record of Fire Drills

  • Manage compliance with annual safety and building inspectors, including state inspections and local inspections for fire suppression hoods.

  • Support the maintenance of grounds including weed control, watering, sprinkler repair, and relationships with outside lawn care providers.

  • Evaluate all maintenance employees.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

May occasionally supervise students.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and routine reports. Ability to present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, students, parents, and secretaries. Ability to communicate using correct grammar. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.  Prefer that applicant is proficient in English and Spanish. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

 

Ability to operate personal and mainframe computers and related software. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all related corporation policies and state requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift and pull or push articles up to 50 pounds. He/she is constantly working to meet deadlines with severe time restraints.
