5 Star Salon Academy is seeking a friendly, reliable, and organized Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for students, clients, and visitors. This role is essential to creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere while supporting daily operations at our growing cosmetology academy.

The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, people-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Guest Experience

  • Greet students, clients, and visitors with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer phones, respond to general inquiries, and route calls appropriately
  • Check in clinic clients and assist with scheduling and basic questions
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming front desk and reception area

Administrative Support

  • Assist with appointment scheduling and calendar coordination
  • Support student enrollment and inquiry intake as needed
  • Manage sign-in sheets, forms, and basic record keeping
  • Handle light data entry and document organization

Communication & Coordination

  • Share accurate information about academy programs, clinic services, and events
  • Communicate with instructors and staff to ensure smooth daily flow
  • Assist with distributing flyers, announcements, and updates

Operations Support

  • Accept payments and provide receipts when needed
  • Support clinic floor operations by directing clients and managing flow
  • Assist with special events, open houses, and community days

Qualifications

  • Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented
  • Strong communication skills (in person, phone, and written)
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable using basic technology (email, scheduling tools, forms)
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience in a salon, school, or customer-facing role
  • Interest in cosmetology, beauty, education, or community work

Schedule & Environment

  • On-site position at 5 Star Salon Academy
  • Schedule may include weekdays and select evenings or Saturdays
  • Dynamic environment working with students, educators, and clients
