Water Taxi of Fort Lauderdale has been an icon in South Florida for over 30 years; serving the Fort Lauderdale, Pompano and Hollywood area with year-round service, private charters, and special event transportation. Water Taxi is based in the Yachting Capital of the World, Fort Lauderdale Florida, and boasts the largest passenger fleet in South Florida.

We are currently seeking a Director of Sales to join our dynamic team.

The Director of Sales provides day-to-day leadership to the sales team to achieve or exceed revenue objectives with overall responsibility for achieving booking goals and company revenues. Responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of revenue generation at Water Taxi to include direct sales, reseller sales, concession sales, group sales, and for managing all public relations, promotions, and marketing efforts to optimize profit potential and further enhance the company's image.

This team leader will be goal oriented, have the ability to communicate and effectively plan for the team to achieve their goals. Providing direction and timely feedback on performance in a constructive manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with sales teams and leadership to execute and develop a sales plan for each revenue line item within the company.
  • Drives, owns, and supports all aspects of the group and catering sales revenue generation for Water Taxi.
  • Recruit, retain, lead, and grow talents of the team through constructive feedback and career focused learning opportunities. Providing quantifiable success metrics and holding team members accountable.
  • Identify and develop sales concepts to attract new customers and build off past customers. Identify new revenue streams, market company products, and develop new marketing and sales campaigns as conditions change.
  • Set and track sales goals throughout the year, reporting monthly sales results to facilitate necessary adjustments and improvements.
  • Research and develop strategies and plans which identify new ridership opportunities.
  • Creates strategic marketing plan and supporting action items and measures effectiveness with adaptation to changing group and reseller market conditions.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results in all services and all markets.
  • Directly manage major and critical client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
  • Stays abreast of competition with strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the local and regional set.
  • Creates budgets and forecasting with sound well thought analysis to present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Initiates new sales, prospects, and qualifies leads and solicits potential clients.
  • Hosts and entertain clients and maintain client accounts
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals.
  • Establish and implement short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for sales team members.
  • Attends and supports trade shows and attend meetings, seminars and functions through membership in association(s). Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company.
  • Promote positive relations with business partners, clients, and vendors.
  • Other directives from management as required
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations of changes, which would affect operations
  • Reports to directly to the President

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
  • Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to motivate team to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects, with the ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Degree in business or a closely related field of study
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a senior-level sales position.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to interact with various personality types
