The Materials Clerk supports all material movement throughout the facility — from shipping and receiving to staging parts for production, fabrication, customer orders, and full car wash builds.

You'll help ensure materials flow accurately and efficiently, maintain clean and organized inventory areas, communicate needs with the team, and keep our ERP data up to date so daily operations run smoothly. Every day brings something different, and your work directly supports the success of our production teams and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and creating UPS/FedEx/freight documentation.
  • Verify shipment accuracy by checking quantities, addresses, and required paperwork.
  • Receive inbound materials and match deliveries to purchase orders.
  • Enter received items into the ERP system and report discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Put away incoming materials promptly while maintaining clean and organized storage areas.
  • Pick parts for customer orders and car wash components using sales orders and pick lists.
  • Pick and stage all components required for full car wash builds with a high level of accuracy.
  • Review BOMs, pick lists, and sales orders to ensure builds include all required parts.
  • Monitor open sales orders and identify items ready for picking or shipping as materials arrive.
  • Create shipping labels and ensure proper packaging of all outgoing shipments.
  • Keep bins, shelves, and inventory areas organized to support efficient picking and accurate counts.
  • Communicate shortages, delivery issues, or missing components to the Materials Coordinator or Operations.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Support improvements to picking processes, inventory flow, and material storage organization.
  • Collaborate with Production, Fabrication, and Operations teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely ERP entries for all material transactions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in materials handling, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and picking.
  • Ability to maintain clean, organized, and efficient storage areas.
  • Ability to read and follow pick lists, BOMs, and related documentation.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout warehouse and production areas.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, and handling of materials up to 25–35 lbs.
  • Use of hands and fingers for picking, labeling, packaging, scanning, and computer entry.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, and climbing ladders to access materials.
  • Ability to work safely in manufacturing and warehouse environments and follow required PPE guidelines.
