Responsibilities
Position Overview:
Ascension Wisconsin has an excellent opportunity for a 4th year Internal Medicine chief resident to join our team as we launch a new Internal Medicine Residency Program in July 2025. This position offers a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and faculty with time for research. Opportunity to teach and work directly with residents in the clinic setting to provide high-quality patient care and education.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical education and healthcare delivery within our community while contributing to a new and innovative residency program.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with our ambulatory, hospitalist, and GME programs.
- Help develop and lead the ambulatory clinical training program for the Internal Medicine Residency.
- Assist in establishing the clinic's operations and structure to support the residency program.
- Provide direct patient care, including managing your own patient panel as the residency program develops.
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure alignment with ACGME accreditation standards and educational objectives.
- Participate in curriculum development and scholarly activities, contributing to the program's academic mission.
- Mentor and support residents in their professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Serve as a role model for residents by demonstrating exemplary clinical and interpersonal skills.
Skills And Experience
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to build and manage complex programs.
- Teaching experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong desire to teach and lead, as well as experienced clinicians who want to move into the teaching space are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
