Senior Director of Product Management, Apex Legends
Why This Role MattersThis is a key leadership role for Respawn Entertainment and the player experience, driving satisfaction with retention and monetization with the evolution of the Apex Legends franchise.
As the Senior Director of Product Management, you will help shape the vision, leading the monetization experiences that support gameplay and content evolutions with a player-first approach. Being a senior studio leader, you will develop the strategy and frameworks delivering impact and ROI while partnering with creative leadership on driving player-first monetization in Apex Legends. You will lead a cross-functional, passionate team as you collaborate with key stakeholders, charting the long-term and short-term strategy for the future of the franchise.
OverviewRespawn Entertainment is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Product Management to lead the Live Service product management of the Apex Legends franchise. Reporting to the Franchise Director, you are part of a core leadership team responsible for developing and driving the success of our overall monetization strategy. Leading the product management team with creating the roadmap for engagement focused events, cosmetic content, monetization initiatives, IP integrations, and maximizing player retention and satisfaction.
You will partner closely with design, production, analytics, and art, championing data-informed insights that help shape product solutions that exceed goals and delight players. Based on-site in Los Angeles, Vancouver or Madison, you will work closely with the Studio & Apex Franchise GM, Franchise Director, Executive Producer, Heads of Technology and Creative, and other key studio and EA publishing partners to unify strategy, ensure executional excellence, and shape the evolution of the player experience in Apex Legends.
Key Responsibilities- Monetization strategy: Develop the long term roadmap driving innovation and impactful ROI for a global player base with a "player first" mindset.
- Gameplay-Driven Monetization: Develop monetization systems that center on substantial player value and satisfaction that augments the player experience.
- Fairness and Transparency: Uphold a strong commitment to player fairness by avoiding pay-to-win mechanics and ensuring monetized content does not block or unbalance core progression.
- Content Appeal: Ensure content presentation and desirability meets players expectations along with pricing structures and packages that feel generous, optional, and respectful of different player types—from casual to hardcore.
- Progression Integration: Tie monetization to optional enhancements in character development, replayable content, or alternate gameplay paths, without compromising accessibility for non-paying players.
- Partnership collaborations: Leveraging player insights to identify IP partnerships, and being the conduit with the team and managing external relationships that shape exciting monetization and player engagement experiences.
- Data-Informed Design: Use data to evaluate how monetized features affect engagement, retention, and sentiment—refining approaches with a focus on long-term player trust.
- Market Analysis: Leverage market analysis by providing experience-based leadership on player trends, monetization patterns, and growth opportunities; advise cross-functional teams on potential business model innovations to help shape Apex Legends' strategic direction and growth opportunities .
- Champion Player-First Thinking: Leverage community feedback, data insights, and business goals to influence game prioritization, deliver impactful live events and elevate the player experience.
- Build and Mentor Teams: Guide a high-performing Product Mgmt organization. Develop team members, establish clear KPIs and standards, and foster a sustainable, inclusive culture that supports growth and career development.
- Inspire and Align Teams: Set ambitious goals and clearly communicate team values. Cultivate a collaborative mindset and empower teams to explore bold ideas and deliver sound and strategic insights and plans that impact ROI with a "player first" mindset.
- Extensive Product Management Leadership Experience: 10+ years in senior PM or franchise leadership roles, with a proven track record in live service operations. Must include extensive experience with live service/F2P titles with 5+ years in leading the product management discipline
- Live Service Expertise: Strong understanding of game economies, monetization strategies and live service operations
- Proven track record: PC/Console live experience, with a key leadership role with demonstrable impact and success with past titles, relevant mobile experience may be considered
- Collaborative Leadership: Proven success navigating complex stakeholder networks—publishing, QA, usability, outsourcing, and platform partners—to drive global execution.
- Strategic Communication: Exceptional planning and communication skills. Able to foster trust, drive alignment, and influence outcomes across all levels.
- Global Mindset: Experience growing global products and expanding reach through scalable production strategies tailored to international markets.
- Player-First Mentality: Passion for high-quality games and player-centric experiences that balances engagement with opt in monetization experiences
- Genre Fluency: Deep knowledge of the live service FPS space, including player expectations, market dynamics, and competitive benchmarks.
Pay Transparency - North America
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$187,000 - $259,400 CAD
* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco) *$219,400 - $331,200 USD
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
