Family Nurse Practitioner Job Description

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages. You will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of health conditions while promoting wellness and preventive care. Your expertise will be essential in guiding patients through their healthcare journeys, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in a supportive environment.

What you'll do

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to evaluate health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Provide treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, including medication management and health education.
  • Perform procedures such as IV infusions.
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation and management of patient information.
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices to empower them in their health journey.
  • Stay current with clinical research and advancements in family medicine to enhance patient outcomes.

Basic qualifications

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license with certification in Family Medicine or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with EMR systems such Medgen EHR.
  • Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding for accurate billing processes.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
