What will you be doing?

• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area, equipment and storage.
• Complete visual inspection and maintenance of banquet and meeting space and condition of equipment.
• Supervise and train staff in the set up and break down of assigned banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) and manager's instructions.
• Communicate frequently with supervisors and managers and communicate frequently with guest contacts in order to ensure that their needs are being met.
• Follow all Marcus Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures, Marriott Standards, and Information Protection procedures.
• Administer discipline as needed at a supervisory level and ensure disciplinary procedures are followed.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory Banquet Department meetings, trainings and hotel meetings.
• Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned.

What you will bring to the role?

• High School Diploma required, advanced degree in hospitality related field preferred.
• Prior Banquet Set-Up, hospitality and/or supervisory experience preferred.
• Supervisory and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently.
• Dependable and reliable to meet the demands of a 24 hour operation with flexibility to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.  This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and or carry up to 100lbs. and ability to stand and move throughout continuously to perform essential job functions.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
• Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner.
