Job Description

As a Security Officer - Financial Front Desk PT in Hackensack, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a prominent financial institution location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and employees. You will help to deter security-related incidents by managing access control, monitoring badge credentials, and providing exceptional customer service. Your presence and professionalism will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while upholding our core values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in communication, are comfortable using technology, and value integrity in their daily responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Greet visitors and employees in a professional manner while managing access to the location.
  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as instructed by Allied Universal and the client.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor flow to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity within the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of security-related activities and incidents at the front desk.
  • Support emergency response activities when required, including assisting with evacuations and/or providing information to first responders.
  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by answering questions and addressing concerns in a courteous manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Holding a state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Possessing access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
