Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician

Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician duties include:

  • Perform patient work-ups including refracting
  • History taking including Chief Complaint, Past ocular History and Family History
  • Conduct a variety of vision screening tests (OCT, VF, Lenstar/IOL, Topography, Optos, PACHY, iTrace, Etc.)
  • Basic slit lamp exam
  • Accurately enter all necessary data into the EMR
  • Process patient and pharmacy medication requests

Certifications preferred but will train: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). For uncertified candidates, progression to certification will be the goal. Experience with EMR preferred. Along with the required experience in ophthalmology, a warm personality, attention to detail, organization, dependability, and ability to multitask are a must

Full-time position Monday through Friday. No weekends.
