About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Technician specializing in ductwork testing and red tag start services to join our team in Grapevine, TX. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of ductwork systems, ensuring optimal airflow, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality. The ideal candidate is experienced in performing accurate diagnostics, precise installations, and thorough system verifications that meet code compliance and customer satisfaction standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesDuctwork Installation & Maintenance

• Plan, design, and install ductwork systems according to blueprints and mechanical drawings.

• Measure, cut, fit, seal, and insulate ducts to ensure maximum system efficiency and air quality.

• Inspect, test, and repair ductwork to prevent air leaks and maintain optimal performance.

System Testing & Red Tag Start

• Perform duct leakage testing and red tag inspections to verify safety and compliance.

• Document test results, red tag findings, and corrective actions in compliance with local codes.

• Ensure all systems meet manufacturer specifications and applicable standards before sign-off.

Diagnostics & Repairs

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and airflow issues in residential and light commercial systems.

• Replace or repair defective parts such as thermostats, motors, dampers, and valves.

• Conduct performance checks to validate system balance and efficiency.

Customer Service & Communication

• Communicate inspection findings and repair recommendations clearly and professionally.

• Educate homeowners or clients on system performance, maintenance best practices, and energy-saving opportunities.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols, including safe refrigerant handling.

• Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and federal HVAC and building codes.

Specific Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum 2 years of HVAC installation or service experience.

• Valid EPA Certification required.

• Strong understanding of duct design, airflow testing, and HVAC systems.

• Proficient with diagnostic tools, airflow meters, and system testing equipment.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and pass background/drug screening.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

• Work in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments.

• Handle conditions involving dust, noise, and temperature fluctuations.
