Engineer Supervisor

Hamilton Hotel DC is looking for an Engineer Supervisor, in this role you will be assisting with preventative maintenance to meet quality standards, working with electrical and HVAC systems, keeping up with curb appeal, and promptly assisting with guest requests. As Engineer will understand the importance of working with urgency.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching and supporting associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others in both the Engineering Department as well as other members of the staff and guest.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and equipment failures, and take necessary actions to mitigate the impact on guests and staff.
- Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and maintain hotel equipment, including boilers, chillers, elevators, and fire safety systems, to ensure their reliability and safety.
- Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-saving measures and eco-friendly practices to reduce utility costs and minimize the hotel's environmental footprint.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and work orders to track maintenance history and plan for future maintenance needs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any identified hazards promptly.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the job's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. As an Engineer, you must be hard-working, reliable and focused on providing exceptional customer service.
- You must also be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of skilled trade activities in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical and mechanical work.
- Skill in using various trade tools, including both hand and electric tools.
- Basic aptitude for and ability to operate and repair equipment.
- Skilled in several areas such as Pools, HVAC, electrical, IT, carpentry, dry walling, painting, and plumbing. Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work.
- Ability to move and work throughout the resort for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 75 lbs. waist high.
