Hazmat Delivery Driver – Utility Van

In this role, you will report to the Manager, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Watertown, MA

Shift: Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 4 pm)

Wage Range: $28 - $31 per hour

CDL- Hazmat endorsement required

What we're looking for:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required. 

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement required.

• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screen required.

• Approved DOT physical certification required.

• SAP experience required.

• IATA Certification

• Experience using material handling equipment

• Problem-solving & analytical skills

• Written & verbal communication skills

• Customer service focus, displaying a professional, can-do attitude.

• High regard for safety, quality, and site/customer protocols, policies, and procedures

• Must be able to lift 50lbs

Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

• Safely transport and deliver hazardous and plastic materials on schedule.

• Provide professional, timely service to build strong customer relationships.

• Load, unload, and organize materials in designated areas.

• Inspect shipments for damage and maintain accurate records.

• Package and ship materials in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

• Secure loads and ensure compliance with weight and safety regulations.

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any issues.

• Keep receiving and storage areas clean, safe, and organized.

• Perform desktop deliveries and operate vehicles safely.

• Follow DOT and other applicable regulations.

• Support lab operations, including eyewash and Glasswash station maintenance.

• Handle materials with care to maintain integrity during transport.

• Use SAP and Avantor systems to process orders and deliveries.

• Perform other duties as needed to support operations.
