Location: Hybrid - Jersey City, NJ (3 days onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months

Overview

We are supporting the client in building and enhancing large-scale financial data platforms. This is a
long-term engagement
with stable funding and strategic visibility.

Project Summary

The position support two key initiatives within the client's Global Markets division:

  • Finance Re-Design (FRD):
    A mature platform being reconfigured for strategic data onboarding.
  • Finance Regulatory Reporting (FRR):
    A greenfield initiative to reconcile and adjust data between the bank's ledger and upstream systems for regulatory reporting.

The projects aim to automate independent price verification processes using centralized market data from external vendors. Development teams are distributed globally, with a new team being built in Jersey City to increase capacity and coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python-based data processing and analytics applications.
  • Collaborate with global development teams to implement scalable and performant data solutions.
  • Support junior team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate across the full software development lifecycle – from design and testing to deployment.
  • Contribute to modernization and re-platforming of existing financial systems.

Required Skills & Experience

For Python/Database Roles:

  • Strong proficiency in
    Python
  • Solid experience with
    SQL
    and
    Oracle databases
  • Strong
    Object-Oriented Programming
    background (Java, C++, or C#)
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD, and agile methodologies

General Preferences:

  • 5–6+ years of experience (with long-term tenure at past employers)
  • Strong educational background (solid college/university)
  • Relocation acceptable (note: onsite interviews required)
  • Angular (v10+) experience is a plus, though not required
