Gastroenterology of North Mississippi is seeking an Experienced Endo Technician/Surgical Technician or Certified Medical Assistant to join our amazing team and to help drive patient success in our community.

Snapshot of Daily Duties

  • Set up and assist physician with procedures.
  • Ensure that all the equipment is correct for the procedure and in good working order.
  • Safely deliver endoscopes to and from the procedure room.
  • Collect, label, and send specimens with the correct paperwork out of the procedure room.
  • Document thoroughly, accurately, and appropriately for each procedure.
  • Accurately obtain vital signs as indicated and document on chart.
  • Escort patient/families through and assist in checking in of patients as scheduled or needed.
  • Assist in data collection to identify the patient's needs, problems, concerns, or human responses.

The Must Haves

  • High School graduate required.
  • Certificated Medical Assistant or Experienced Endo/Surgical Technician
  • Previous medical experience is preferable.
  • Previous experience with computers is required.
  • Must possess knowledge of acceptable parameters of pulse oximetry and blood pressures, blood borne pathogens and aseptic techniques.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must have sufficient strength to move carts and assist patients while walking.
  • On the job training is offered.

Physical Setting:

  • Outpatient surgical center

Standard Shift:

  • PRN position - 8 hour shift
