Description

The Morgan Library & Museum invites applications for the position of Development Assistant. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Development Assistant provides essential administrative support for the CAO and the Development Department, especially as it relates to gift processing, mailings, events, data entry and record keeping. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide administrative support for the CAO, including correspondence and acknowledgements, meeting scheduling and preparation, record keeping and database maintenance, and other related tasks that support the daily functions of Development operations.

· Assist with departmental gift processing and entry and CRM database management

· Assist with Development events, including invitations, mailing list coordination, RSVP tracking, maintaining landing pages, recording attendance, and updating development events calendar

· Assist with in-person and digital internal meetings and related set-up 

· Help Events teams with external rental events and galas, as needed

· In coordination with other Development staff, assist preparation of e-newsletters and other donor communications

· Help to gather information for the annual Report to Donors and circulate for approvals

· Run and circulate Development gift reports

· Coordinate tours and visits for VIP donors and guests


Requirements
  • B.A. Degree; interest in the arts and humanities preferred.
  • Experience working in a museum, development/membership office, or other non-profit environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with keen attention to details.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of customer service.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed writing skills.
  • Proficiency with      Microsoft Office software.
  • Donor database experience preferred.
  • Design skills, including Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop preferred.
  • Evening and some weekend hours are necessary 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time at events and programs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods on the computer.
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy boxes of material as needed.

$52,000 per year
