Solution Engineer

As the Solution Engineer, you will focus on early customer engagement and strategy, proposal development, project optimization, and growing our pipeline of solar power applications. You will own critical pieces of our early-stage project engineering and business development process and apply your knowledge of Planted's technology, the energy market, and solar development and construction to support customers.

The salary range for this full-time position is $90,000–$110,000, plus stock options and benefits. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 2+ years.

Civil Engineer

As Civil Project Engineer, you will own the design and engineering of the mechanical, structural, geotechnical, and civil aspects of Planted Solar's projects, ranging in size from distributed generation (DG) to utility scale. You will support solar site design, specifically focused on the structural, civil, and geotechnical disciplines, while balancing optimization of energy production, schedule, and labor and material costs. This role is a key interface with customers, independent engineers, and permitting agencies to ensure Planted projects meet all civil and structural engineering requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with talented engineering and business teams with a high degree of empowerment and autonomy. We are looking for a technically excellent hands-on engineer with experience deploying solar at scale. You will be a key part of the product development road map.

The annual salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 – $140,000 plus stock options and benefits. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 3-8 years.

Electrical Engineer

As Electrical Engineer, you will own the electrical design and engineering for Planted Solar's projects, ranging in size from distributed generation (DG) to utility scale. You will be responsible for the development of design documents, including electrical layouts, block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams. You will be responsible for optimizing site design while balancing energy production, schedule, and material and labor costs. This role is a key interface with customers, independent engineers, and permitting agencies to ensure Planted projects meet all electrical engineering standards and requirements.

We are looking for a technically excellent hands-on engineer with experience deploying solar at scale. You will be a key part of the product development road map, especially electrical design and engineering improvements. Robot Software Engineer (HMI/UI)

As a key member of the Robot Software team, you will design and develop high-performance Qt-based GUIs for Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) with Planted Solar's Semi-Autonomous machines. This role involves hands-on testing in both controlled and field environments to optimize user experience and ensure system reliability. You will build and maintain CI pipelines for desktop apps and HIL testing that provide fast feedback, reproducible builds, and traceable artifacts. You are a software generalist who moves comfortably between UI polish, performance profiling, test automation, and backend integrations to keep the team unblocked. This role offers plenty of room for growth, whether you're interested in data infrastructure, backend services, or diving deeper into core robot telemetry and logic.

Robot Software Engineer (Platform and Backend)

As a key member of our Robot Software team, you will design, build, and operate the backbone that keeps our robot fleet online, secure, and productive, owning backend services and APIs for telemetry, data ingest, command and control, and user workflows while bringing up compute with operating systems, drivers, firmware, and device configuration, and creating fleet scale CI/CD that produces reproducible edge images and cloud releases. You will run deployments end to end with safe over the air updates, staged rollouts, health checks, automated rollback, and device configuration while operating and securing cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, private connectivity, and secrets. You are a platform generalist who moves smoothly between Python services, device provisioning, infrastructure automation, and incident response, and you jump into the highest priority gaps to ship outcomes quickly and safely.

As a member of the Robot Hardware & Systems team, this role will play a key part in the development of the next generation of our autonomous solar-installation robots. Responsibilities will include developing control algorithms, integrating sensors, and implementing real-time robotic software. Senior Robotics Engineer, Sensing and Perception

As a member of the Robot Hardware & Systems team, this role will play a key part in the development of the next generation of our autonomous solar-installation robots. Responsibilities will include integrating sensors, implementing/developing/testing vision algorithms, and implementing real-time robotics software. Field Robotics Engineer

As a Field Robotics Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability and uptime of Planted's robotic installation machines at utility scale solar projects. You will lead data collection in the field, diagnose and fix issues, as well as support onsite operations such as operator training and machine logistics. As a critical bridge between R&D and project operations, you will enhance real-world robotic performance through rigorous testing and validation, while coordinating with other engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of new features.
