Senior Manager, Product Development

We are seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented, and strategic Senior Manager, Product Development - Complexion & Skincare to join our Product team. This role will be in office at least four (4) days a week, and report directly to our CPO and will be responsible for driving the development of best-in-class, highly awarded, and sought-after products that embody Victoria's vision of modern luxury. The ideal candidate will blend artistry and innovation with operational excellence, overseeing the end-to-end product development process across complexion and skincare categories—from concept through commercialization.

This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Creative, Packaging, Marketing, Operations, and Regulatory to deliver elevated products that are both competitively clean and sustainably minded, ensuring each launch upholds the brand's uncompromising standards of performance, desirability, and design.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PD and Product Marketing teams to establish 3Y product calendar, outlining product strategy, reasons for being, and storytelling
• Oversee the product development process for all new skincare and complexion products, from product brief to final production with support from the Chief Product & Innovation Officer
• Collaborate with R&D to define formula strengths and ingredient storytelling, focusing on active selection, formula troubleshooting, testing, and claims development.
• Manage QA process for existing complexion and skincare portfolio and establish new standards as needed
• Manage and track all formula and packaging submissions for active projects
• Manage tracking of all owned projects and initiatives to PD budget
• Lead cross-functional communication in weekly development meetings, ensuring detailed tracking of project status
• Complete onsite travel for shade development, line trials and bulk production (with support from CPIO and Engineering as needed)
• Spearhead and synthesize competitive analysis, with focus on developing competitive recommendations for product development (formula types, packaging types, shades, etc.) and product marketing (positioning, etc)
• Represent PD perspective in communication with cross-functional departments for GTM, developing detailed product fact sheets, ingredient dossiers, usage instructions, claims, etc.
• Manage development and handoff of photography comps and samples
• Manage communication with creative team in digital asset retouching, where needed
• Support registration processes, working with RPs to manage product information gathering and development of compliant artwork and claims creation.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years skincare and color (with a focus on complexion) product development experience (experience in a startup environment is a plus)
• Experience shade matching independently directly onsite with a chemist at the bench
• Demonstrated knowledge of new product development lifecycle and experience leading conversations with cross-functional partners, both internal and external
• Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes and quickly adapt to change in priorities
• Proven ability to take technical information and summarize the key messages for a variety of audiences
• Has the ability to think conceptually, but is also organized, detail oriented, resourceful

and works well independently and part of a team

• Ability to work in a startup environment - one that is fast-paced, often-changing, collaborative and involves wearing multiple hats
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills

Salary Range:
The Salary Range for this position is $110K to 130K, with exact salary depending on the location, prior work experience, and the assessment for one's fit of the role.
