Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. As an LPN, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, assisting with patient assessments, administering medications, and ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients.

Duties

  • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Perform basic nursing procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and IV insertion
  • Conduct patient assessments and document medical histories accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
  • Assist in triaging patients based on their needs and urgency of care
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and their families about health management and disease prevention
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information

Skills

Candidates should possess a range of skills to excel in this role, including but not limited to:

  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
  • Experience in critical care settings including ICU, emergency room, or Level I/II trauma centers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medication administration protocols
  • Familiarity with long-term care practices including Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and hospice care
  • Strong patient assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors, and individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Competence in performing procedures such as phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and airway management
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams
