Bag Machine Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bag Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining bag-making machinery to ensure efficient and safe production of high-quality packaging products. Your expertise in smooth production processes, optimal machine operation, mechanical knowledge, and precision measurement will be vital in meeting production goals while adhering to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor bag-making machines to make sure all parts of the machine are running properly.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on machinery.
• Check ink viscosities at the beginning, during and at the end of each shift and make any adjustments as necessary.
• Use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and maintain quality control standards throughout production.
• Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Conduct basic math calculations for machine adjustments, measurements, and quality checks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools; document production data accurately.
• Quality checks for each job running at start of job and intermittently while job is running.
• Make sure bag size is correct.
• Correctly and accurately complete paperwork.
• Verify labels are correct.
• Ensure bag specifications are accurate including any lips, vents, back flips, seals and gussets etc.
• Print copy must be clear.
• Make sure seals are good
• Make sure pallets are properly stacked with correct materials and orientation of boxes
• Ability to follow instructions
• Operator will be required to lift a maximum weight of 40 LBS.
• Assiting with production needs
• Cleaning parts
• Packaging parts and preparing them for shipment
• Other duties as required

Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, tooling, hand tools, and materials handling techniques essential for daily operations
• Experience with factory safety procedures, quality control processes, and warehouse operations highly valued
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments
• Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience working with packaging or fabrication machinery preferred
• Strong blueprint reading skills with understanding of GD&T principles for precision manufacturing.
• Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling setup and materials handling procedures.
• Familiarity with factory safety protocols; ability to operate hand tools and use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers confidently.
• Warehouse experience including forklift operation; adept at assembly line work and packaging processes.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
