Job Description
What you'll do:
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable test environments that emulate real-world customer SD-WAN deployments — including both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.

You will also develop automated test frameworks and test cases that validate solution functionality, performance, and resiliency across diverse topologies and routing architectures, leveraging automation tools such as Python, Robot, Ansible, and Terraform to orchestrate full-stack environments.

This role requires deep familiarity with network routing concepts and hands-on experience automating infrastructure and test environments-it is not a generic software QA position.

Responsibilities
Network and system expertise

  • Configure and validate routing topologies using BGP, OSPF, and policy-based routing for seamless network integration.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot network or platform issues identified through monitoring and testing.
  • Develop and execute performance, scalability, and regression tests for end-to-end validation.

Automation and infrastructure

  • Design, develop, and automate solution tests to replicate real-world SD-WAN scenarios using Python, Robot, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Build and maintain scalable test environments using AWS, OpenStack, KVM, and similar platforms.
  • Automate traffic generation (Spirent, Cyberflood, iPerf, or similar tools) to validate throughput, resiliency, and failover across complex topologies.
  • Contribute to continuous integration infrastructure (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and implement test monitoring and reporting standards.

Collaboration and quality

  • Mentor junior engineers and help define best practices for automation and test quality.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and reliability are built in from the start.
  • Partner with development and support teams to reproduce and resolve customer-reported issues.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and efficiency.

What You Need To Bring

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing or development in networking or SD-WAN domains.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with automation frameworks (Robot, Ansible, Terraform).
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and SD-WAN data communications.
  • Experience developing and testing on Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex distributed systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with network performance tools (Spirent, Cyberflood, IXIA, iPerf).
  • Familiarity with hybrid WAN environments and large-scale customer topology simulations.
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN controllers, overlay networks, and tunnel orchestration.
  • Experience with Agile and test-driven development processes.
  • Exposure to AI-driven or telemetry-based network assurance systems

Additional Skills
Cloud Architectures, Cross Domain Knowledge, Design Thinking, Development Fundamentals, DevOps, Distributed Computing, Microservices Fluency, Full Stack Development, Security-First Mindset, Solutions Design, Testing & Automation, User Experience (UX)
