Job Description

Fowler General Construction is seeking a Field Layout Technician to inspect infrastructure and conduct research to ensure that all onsite aspects are running smoothly, and engineering designs are being followed. This position is responsible for providing layout support services for self-performance and subcontractor activities which may include conducting onsite research, inspecting equipment and technologies, and using problem solving skills to handle any onsite malfunctions. Candidate must have proven experience in surveying as well as experience using Trimble survey equipment and programs.

Field Layout Engineer Responsibilities:

· Oversee all stages of project life cycle

· Provide leadership to all project team members

· Manage project budget

· Manage project schedule

· Subcontracts, RFIs, COs, ASIs, etc.

· Provide timely status reports to stakeholders

Field Layout Engineer Requirements:

· Established experience of survey control in the field and in AutoCAD.

· Strong understanding of construction layout of building grids, secondary control, civil layout, and monitoring collection data.

· Experience using complete capabilities of total station.

· Preferred experience using a Trimble RTS 363 Total Station with an LM80 handheld compatible with Fieldlink software.

· Capability of laying out anchor bolts and embedding to a high tolerance.

· Effectively provide back check data and generate variance reports.

· Technology advanced, can navigate programs such as AutoCAD, Revit and various others.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

Experience/Education:

  • Proven surveying experience (required)
  • Trimble survey equipment and programs (required)
  • Experience with layout concrete foundations, embeds, and anchor bolts (required)
  • Construction Industry Experience (required)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
