Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical work, with experience in residential settings. This role involves assisting electricians in various tasks, ensuring safety and compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), and contributing to the successful completion of electrical projects.
Duties
- Assist electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently..
- Support the installation of low voltage and high voltage systems as needed.
- Conduct tests using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic tools to ensure systems are functioning correctly.
- Collaborate on construction sites, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Participate in frame carpentry tasks as required for electrical installations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are accounted for.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an electrician assistant or in a related electrical field is preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial electrician practices is a plus; commercial electrician experience is also beneficial.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Experience reading blueprints and schematics related to electrical systems.
- Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites, demonstrating safety awareness at all times.
