ESTIMATED PAY RANGE
$70,000 - $86,000, DOE

PROJECT LOCATION
Burnsville, MN, with travel to Faribault, MN as needed. 

JOB SUMMARY

 As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Burnsville, MN, you may: design mechanical components and systems related to pad-mounted transformers and custom power distribution equipment; identify common patterns and features that can be restructured for design automation; map out interdependencies between components to streamline the design process from quote to order; create detailed mechanical specifications and technical product documentation; identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement; work directly with customers and sales to create custom designs; ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • A minimum of two years using Solidworks for 3D design
  • Product development/redevelopment experience strongly preferred
  • The ability to source components and work directly with vendors
  • Experience with UL 1008, UL 508, UL 891, and UL 1558 standards a plus
