Primary Purpose:
Responsible for supervising staff and managing the daily operations of the Tūtū and Me program for designated team(s).
Essential Duties:
- Supervise and mentor staff to ensure a quality program is implemented, including managing behavior (working with HR and supervisor in drafting and administering employee disciplinary reports if necessary), conducting annual performance reviews with each staff, conducting regular check-ins with each staff to support staff retention including stay interviews;
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with site facility personnel (e.g., school principals, church leaders, etc.), landlords, independent contractors, vendors, community agencies and community members;
- Ensure that a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant curriculum for children and caregivers is being carried out;
- Manage and monitor program expenditures, family enrollment, staff training, and daily reports for the teaching team(s);
- Plan and coordinate professional development training and cultural learning for teaching teams, organizing presenters, dates, and venues;
- Review team reports and lesson plans for accuracy, note trends, and prepare monthly statistical reports;
- Visit program sites regularly and provide feedback to the teaching team;
- Provide transportation for self and team member(s) to and from designated sites;
- Participate in monthly Site Managers meetings and other meetings as requested.
Other Duties:
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to, completing all forms and documentation, such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.
Work Hours:
- Monday through Friday, hours of operation vary by site and are determined by the supervisor;
- Work hours are subject to change due to external demands/meetings in the field;
- Consistent and reliable attendance;
- Some events on evenings or weekends at various times.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting and program sites;
- Travel in personal and/or program vehicle to and from program site;
- Travel to the neighbor islands and continental U.S. may be required.
Equipment Use:
Program and personal vehicle, office equipment (computer, printer, copier, scanner, bluetooth, laminator, shredder), site and facility equipment.

Physical:
- Capable of strenuous activities, which include loading/unloading of program materials and equipment and washing of vans and mats, set up and break down of program learning activity centers as needed;
- Require lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis;
- Able to sit and work on the floor; kneel and bend;
- Outdoors: Exposure to sun, wind, dust, vog, etc.;
- Indoors: Exposure to normal office environments, A/C, fans, etc.
Communication:
- Exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff, and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Properly handle and maintain highly confidential information.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and two (2) years experience working with keiki ages birth to five and their families; OR
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or two years college education and four (4) years working with keiki (at least one (1) year experience with target population);
- Two (2) years supervisory experience;
- Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily collision per person and $25K in property damage liability.
Preferred:
- Possess strong, foundational knowledge and experience in the implementation of early childhood education, curriculum and assessments;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva publishing, and virtual meeting platforms;
- Familiarity with databases such as QuickBase;
- Knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and values.
