About us

Bohren Logistics and Hornish Bros. Inc are logistics companies managed by Kothe & Associates, which is a small boutique consulting firm. There are three terminals located in Garrett, IN, Defiance, OH, and Perrysville, OH. Some overnight travel to each of the terminals is required as part of the position.

**Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial activities, including financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting. If you have a strong background in corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, and cash management, we would like to hear from you.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Revenue Recognition

  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance

  • Support month-end and year-end close process

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

**Experience:**

Required Skills:

  • Experience in corporate accounting, consolidations, and general ledger reconciliation

  • Proficiency in regulatory reporting and forecasting

  • Skilled in cash management and balance sheet reconciliation

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • CPA or in process of obtaining with one section passed

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks software

-Familiarity with Alvys TMS

  • Experience in transportation and logistics
