Job Overview

Brown Sugar Babe is seeking an experienced and client-obsessed Lead Beauty Consultant / Sales Associate to support the operations of our flagship luxury fragrance and beauty retail store. This hybrid role blends high-level sales expertise, fragrance and beauty advising, team support, and elevated customer experience delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fragrance families, skincare, and beauty application, along with the confidence to lead by example on the sales floor. This role does not produce content for the company, but requires someone who understands aesthetics, brand voice, and luxury presentation standards.

As a senior member of the sales floor team, the Lead Beauty Consultant supports the Store Manager in driving sales performance, maintaining visual standards, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring a flawless, immersive, luxury-level client experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Experience & Sales Leadership

  • Deliver exceptional, personalized service that reflects Brown Sugar Babe's luxury tone and brand identity.
  • Guide clients through fragrance discovery, layering techniques, skincare recommendations, and beauty product education.
  • Support and drive personal and team sales goals by demonstrating expert-level product knowledge and client engagement.
  • Act as the floor lead during scheduled shifts, assisting with coaching, coverage, and customer escalations.
  • Ensure every client receives an elevated, memorable experience from greeting to checkout.

Store Operations & Merchandising

  • Maintain premium merchandising, visual presentation, and overall store cleanliness at all times.
  • Assist with store opening/closing procedures and digital POS operations in a cashless environment.
  • Replenish stock, monitor inventory levels, and support cycle counts or transfers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, cleanliness, and loss-prevention standards.
  • Provide operational support to management, helping uphold daily store execution and performance expectations.

Brand Representation & Aesthetic Excellence

  • Maintain an on-brand, polished appearance and confident presence on the sales floor.
  • Uphold and communicate brand values, tone, and fragrance/beauty expertise to customers and team members.
  • Stay informed on new product launches, promotional strategies, and visual changes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure all in-store experiences align with brand campaigns and luxury standards.

Team Collaboration & Floor Support

  • Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and guiding Beauty Consultants during shifts.
  • Provide real-time coaching on client service, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Support in-store activations, events, and promotional initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between staff and leadership to ensure smooth communication and consistent execution.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in luxury retail, beauty, fragrance, or cosmetics sales.
  • Strong client service and sales skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • In-depth fragrance knowledge (notes, scent profiles, layering, skin chemistry) and familiarity with beauty/skincare routines.
  • Experience operating digital POS systems; comfortable in a cashless retail environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead by example and provide peer guidance during shifts.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hybrid customer experience + sales role (beauty advisor, fragrance specialist, or lead associate).
  • Familiarity with luxury merchandising, inventory rotation, and retail sales reporting.
  • Prior experience at a beauty counter or specialty beauty retailer (Sephora, Ulta, Macy's, department store beauty counters).
  • Understanding of digital aesthetics, beauty trends, and content awareness (even if not creating content for the brand).
