EBD Teacher Middle School

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Disorders) Teacher for Middle School to join our dynamic educational team. Duties

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal standards for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities
• Design and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects such as math, literacy, science, and social studies, incorporating curriculum development best practices
• Utilize evidence-based strategies including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, and classroom management techniques to support student progress
• Conduct assessments, including standardized testing and formative evaluations, to monitor student achievement and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents—to ensure comprehensive support for each student
• Manage classroom behavior proactively through positive reinforcement strategies while maintaining a safe learning environment
• Incorporate learning technology tools effectively into daily instruction to enhance engagement and accessibility for students with disabilities
• Provide mentorship and guidance to students to foster independence, social skills, and emotional regulation skills
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior incidents, and IEP goals in compliance with educational standards such as the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style guidelines
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to deaf education, autism spectrum disorder, Montessori methods, or other specialized instructional approaches

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred with specialization in special education or related disciplines
• Valid teaching certification/license for middle school education with endorsements in special education or EBD preferred
• Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and emotional/behavioral challenges
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development across core subjects such as math (including algebra and calculus), literacy education, creative writing, and physical education
• Expertise in behavior management techniques, IEP development, and behavioral therapy strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA)
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms and tools used for differentiated instruction and assessment
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external specialists
• Experience working within private school settings or educational administration is advantageous
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs while maintaining a positive classroom environment
• Demonstrated ability to proofread educational materials accurately according to professional standards like the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style

Pay: $51, $59,000.00 per year
