Brasfield Accounting –Sr. Contract Accounting Specialist:

Brasfield Accounting is a rapidly growing small business located in Homer, Alaska. We focus on small business consulting with a special emphasis in grant and contract funded companies. Brasfield Accounting provides bookkeeping, accounting, tax, business development, administrative support, grants and contracts management, compliance support, and financial reporting/analysis.

We are currently looking to add a remote full time member to the team who can help us as we continue to expand. This team member will be depended on for accounting as well as grants/contracts administration. The company has a group health insurance plan, dental, short term and long term disability, paid parental leave, and a 401K plan with matching. This position includes company paid holidays as well as three weeks of paid time off.

5+ years experience with Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, AND Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required.

5+ years experience with government contract accounting and invoice submission

Familiarity with any/all of the following are strongly preferred:

· Adobe Acrobat

· Paylocity

· Square

· Stripe

· Asana

· Ramp

· Gusto

· Brex

· WAWF

· PIEE

Background in excel, mathematics, finance, computer science, is also a major plus—however, we will consider candidates from all backgrounds. The main key is the ability to learn quickly, exquisite attention to detail, computer/tech savvy, and a knack for quantitative tasks. We need a critical thinker and a problem solver.

Background and/or experience in government grants and/or contracting would also be a fit for our company.

Responsibilities Include:

· Deliverables for clients including: bookkeeping, financials reports, coordination with in-house CPAs for tax returns, and 1099s

· High level accounting projects for clients

· Review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements

· Coordination of proper payroll entry from staff-run payroll reports

· AR/AP

· Grant and contract invoice submission

· Assistance with grant and contracts management (budget tracking, document prep, etc.)

· Journal entries as needed

· Assistance with company wide projects/initiatives

· Collecting action items from client calls and coordinating delivery

· Other activities as assigned

Pay: $90, $120,000.00 per year
