Overview

A dealership lot manager is responsible for overseeing vehicle inventory, lot presentation, and day-to-day lot operations. Key duties include organizing the lot, keeping vehicles clean and fueled, performing quality control inspections, and coordinating with sales and service departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities

  • Inventory management: Track, organize, and maintain an accurate inventory of all vehicles. Receive new inventory, label keys, and conduct regular audits.
  • Lot presentation: Keep the lot clean, neat, and well-maintained. Ensure vehicles are organized, clean, and ready for customers by washing them, checking fuel levels, and removing debris.
  • Coordination: Work with sales and service departments to ensure smooth daily operations. This includes coordinating on-time deliveries and moving vehicles to the service area or sales floor as needed.
  • Vehicle preparation: Perform quality control inspections on all vehicles before they are moved to the frontline. Install license plates, accessories, and conduct final cleanliness checks before delivery.
  • Administrative tasks: Manage key storage, report any damage to the service department, and attend meetings.
  • Customer experience: Ensure a positive first impression for customers by maintaining a professional and organized lot appearance.
