The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Permanent Substitute Band Teacher at Mellon Middle School for the Second Semester of the School Year.

These are full-time, on-site, single semester, temporary (substitute) assignments from January 16, 2026 through June 8, 2026, a 95 day assignment.

In order to be eligible to apply, the candidate must hold an active Instructional Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Music PK-12, or equivalent authorization in the form of a college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved teacher preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations, while certification is pending through PDE.

A permanent substitute assignment is a long term substitute assignment of a full semester or more. This position will be eligible for degree level daily rate for step 1 of the teachers salary schedule, with rates starting at $289 per day depending upon credential. The position is also eligible for paid time off in the form of sick and personal days and individual health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
