Cub Mankato West is looking for a dedicated individual to fill a Full Time Deli Manager position The Deli Manager plans and manages the deli department to promote sales and achieve profit margins, labor goals, and to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, and a safe and positive working environment for associates.
Job Responsibilities:- Ongoing department planning, execution, and evaluation to ensure maximum sales and profit opportunities, effective cost control, efficient utilization of labor and strong customer service levels.
- Consistently meeting or exceeding department profit and labor goals.
- Ensures consistent quality; freshness and wholesome deli products are provided.
- Responsible for providing effective training, development, and work direction for department associates and requires the ability to encourage individual and group effort toward department objectives.
- Requires ongoing customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous service, knowledge of food preparation procedures, food safety regulations, judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math, moderate to heavy lifting, walking, Telxon, box cutter, operation of deli equipment, and exposure to varied temperatures and wet surfaces.
- Implement and maintain coordinated, aggressive and creative merchandising plans, using Division guidelines, which maximize sales, variety and gross profit

- Manage deli receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control and inventory to ensure proper product control and that gross profit goals are met
- Equipment operation (Knives, slicers, scales, label dispenser, pen, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, box cutter, baler, Telzon, ovens, warmer, computer, flatbed, cash register, scanner, ladders, rolling rack, tongs, steamer, wrapper, broaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee maker, ice machine, calculator, wash sink, cut-resistant gloves)
- Able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
- Memorization, reading, writing and math
- The position requires on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service.
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
- Have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing.
- Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Lifting/carrying up to 60 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 1500 lbs.
- Walking on uneven ground
- Reaching, bending, repetitive motions
- Exposure to hot equipment and cooking oil
- Open availability; including at least one evening shift between Friday to Sunday
