Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in various caregiving settings, including assisted living, home health, and long-term care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide personal care services while ensuring the dignity and comfort of clients.
  • Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in caregiving roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or similar positions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring is essential.
  • Experience working in group homes or with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Compassionate attitude towards providing care for seniors, individuals with autism, or those requiring memory care support.
  • Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately while adapting to changing client needs.
