About the Role
The Medical Assistant at an outpatient surgery center assists in providing patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and other healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, monitoring vital signs, assisting with patient mobility, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. They also help with pre- and post-operative care, such as helping with discharge, and patient education. Additionally, the Medical Assistants may handle administrative tasks like updating patient records, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. This role may also include cross-training as a gastrointestinal tech to support specialized procedures. Strong communication, attention to detail, and compassion are essential for this role.
About You
- Certification of a Medical Assistant program
- BLS certification
- Previous Healthcare Experience
- Willing to be trained in other Departments
- Demonstrates skills in taking vital signs, and height and weight measurements
- Knowledge of sterile technique and handling of infectious waste
- Ability to work as a team and communicate well, and interact appropriately with others
- High level of concentration and attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
