Assistant Retail Store Manager

Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Retail Store Manager - who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. A key priority includes assisting the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store. Under the direction of the Store Manager, you will also be responsible for training new and current employees, knowing and upholding company policies, maintaining inventories and organization, store appearance, cleanliness, opening and closing procedures, and completing daily paperwork. You should apprentice under the manager and perform daily management duties when manager is absent. Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities include; but not limited to the following:

• Maintains safety at all times
• Fully understands and rigidly adhere to the company's firearms' safety rules
• Greets and assists customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Maintains a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
• At the direction of the Store Manager, supervises, trains, and develops retail associates on company operating practices and procedures.
• Improves customer engagement and increases sales by introducing other products, promotions, and opportunities to customers. Cross-sells products to increase purchase amounts.
• Assists Store Manager in requesting merchandise and record keeping, including, but not limited to: payroll, scheduling and cash register deposits and receipts.
• Supports Store Manager in loss prevention efforts.
• Assumes certain management responsibilities in absence of Store Manager.
• Understands and follows all Company policies and procedures.
• Ensures retail lead and associates follow company policies and procedures.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels to boost sales and communicates inventory levels to management for decision making.
• Answers, resolves, responds to, and completes customer issues; provides appropriate solutions; follows up when needed to ensure appropriate resolution.
• Assists customers with the installation of parts.
• Assists manager with merchandising of products on the sales floor regularly to rotate and highlight new items. Merchandise must be well organized and attractively displayed.
• Processes firearms and customer order transactions.
• Ensures that all paperwork involving the sale or transfer of a firearm is accurate and filed correctly and quickly.
• Obtains Federal Firearms Licenses as needed.
• Prepare shipments, including out of state sales shipments.
• Maintains housekeeping by keeping the department clean, uncluttered, well stocked, and lead-free.
• Ensures all firearms/suppressors have been secured in their appropriate locations for the night.
• Pulls POS cash drawers and secures in manager safe.
• Pulls and inspects all SOs and 4473s for completion and secures in manager's office.
• Ensures all customers have exited the building before closing.
• Closes/locks all doors and shutters.
• Ensure all employees have exited and arm building alarm system.
• Completes transitions in an accurate, efficient and friendly manner to achieve established sales goals and increase retail sales.
• Operates cash registers, manages financial transactions, and balances drawers.
• Enforces safety, provides product and firearm safety education, and assists customers in their overall customer experience.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

-1-3 years of previous retail firearm sales experience preferred.

-1-3 years of retail supervisory experience preferred.

• Knowledge of inventory management systems, Netsuite/FastBound/Appointy experience preferred.

• Ability to read, interpret and explain to other's operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc.).

• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices required

• Must be able to pass a DOJ/FBI background check and have the ability to legally possess a handgun in Tennessee.

• Must have Extensive firearms and shooting experience;

• Extensive knowledge of firearms safety

• Knowledge of Tennessee DOJ/ATF laws pertaining to the sale or transfer of a firearm.
