Environmental Remediation Manager

Antea USA, Inc. (AnteaGroup) is seeking an Environmental Remediation Manager in our Atlanta, GA office location.
The position is structured for someone with technical experience and expertise and will combine technical, financial, and interpersonal management skills while leading and working within an interdisciplinary team of environmental and health and safety specialists.
As an Environmental Remediation Manager, you will lead project teams on a variety of assignments including work plan/proposal preparation, remedial action and investigation report writing and review, regulatory interaction, design and implementing corrective actions, soil and groundwater site assessments, UST removal, excavation oversight, health and safety oversight, and Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments.
Where will I work?
This position will be based out of our Atlanta, GA office location with the flexibility to work remotely as assignments allow. In this hybrid work environment, it is expected that this position report to the office 2-3 days per week for in-person meetings and collaboration with other team members. Although minimal, some project work could require local, regional, and/or overnight travel for large project kick-offs or as required for emergency response (up to 15%). The successful candidate must reside in the Greater Atlanta, GA metro area.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Manage environmental projects, site characterization, remedial designs, and preparation of reports and other related documentation.
- Perform, plan, coordinate, oversee project work, and lead project teams involving site investigation, risk assessment and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments with moderate to complex technical/regulatory issues.
- Evaluate remedial alternatives and assist clients to develop and negotiate cost-effective closure strategies with regulatory agencies.
- Direct management of 2-3 people. These accountabilities are not project-related, but rather to help grow the person's career and connect them with opportunities that may or may not include your own project work.
Education and Training
- A degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 5 years or more of environmental consulting experience.
- Professional certification in a related field (PE, PG, LEP, LSP, LSRP) a plus.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training is required (and can be provided for the right candidate).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification a plus.
Desired Experience
- Experience in executing and managing environmental site assessment and remediation projects.
- Experience in project team leadership and personnel management and development.
- Experience in environmental due diligence (ASTM Phase I/II) project execution and management is a plus.
- Experience aggressively diving sites to closure by leveraging field teams and senior technical resources, and advocacy with regulators.

- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills, particularly proficient in technical writing with an attention to detail.
- Ability to delegate to and mentor junior team members to aid in their professional development.
- Ability to evaluate, establish, and communicate project scope, schedule, and budget, and hold self and project teams accountable for meeting these matrices.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre-employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety-sensitive roles). They must also have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
- Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work)
- Frequently required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects
- Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching)
- Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change)
- Operation of a motor vehicle
Additionally, if you are completing client meetings or client project site visits you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
- Medium to heavy work
- Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
- Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at the knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward), and climbing
- Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate, and possibly heavy-weight objects
- Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts, or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling
- May be required to wear an air-purifying respirator
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
