About Us:
We're a fast-growing automotive aftermarket and outdoor gear company designing and manufacturing rugged, American-made products. Our products are built for real-world use—on the trail, at the job site, and everywhere in between. We design, test, and bring products to market quickly using a mix of in-house development and trusted outside manufacturing partners.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on Product Designer role. You'll take ownership of products from early concepts through manufacturing. The role combines CAD design, real-world product testing, and coordination with outside contractors.
This position includes everything listed in our previous CAD Designer role, plus expanded responsibility for project ownership and vendor management.
No degree required but experience is required.
What You'll Do:
- Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks or Fusion 360
- Create manufacturing-ready drawings and documentation
- Sheet metal components
- 3D printed parts
- Soft goods (bags, organizers, covers)
- Cast aluminum and injection-molded parts
- Build, test, and revise functional prototypes
- Perform real-world product testing and iterate designs
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Coordinate with and manage outside contractors and manufacturers
- Collaborate closely with internal product and operations teams
What We're Looking For:
- Strong experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360
- Proven experience creating manufacturing drawings
- Hands-on understanding of prototyping and fabrication
- Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to production
- Interest in the automotive aftermarket industry (required)
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
Bonus Skills
- Adobe Illustrator experience
- Prior experience working with outside manufacturers or vendors
Perks:
- Work on-site in a high-energy, creative environment
- Access to our shop for personal projects (after hours)
- Contribute to building real Made-in-USA gear that makes adventures better
- Be part of a growing team with big plans ahead
Sound like your kind of gig?
Name a time you designed something that failed. What went wrong, and what did you do to fix it?
- Which CAD software are you most proficient in (SolidWorks or Fusion 360), and how have you used it in a real product or physical prototype?
- Can you pass a CAD test?
Design Test (Part of the Interview Process)
Candidates who move forward will be asked to:
- Name three projects they have worked on independently or taken significant ownership of
- Complete a simple design exercise, such as creating a CAD drawing of a basic object (for example: a tape measure or a simple square component)
This is meant to evaluate problem-solving, drawing clarity, and attention to detail—not to trick anyone.
