The Supervisor/Application Services is responsible for overseeing application development, support, integration, and maintenance teams for the enterprise application environment. The Supervisor oversees and directs the work of teams engaged in the analysis, design, requirements gathering, development, testing, implementation, and support and maintenance of custom developed and commercial applications.
This position manages information technology initiatives and supports projects that are significant in scope and impact through advanced knowledge of technology concepts coupled with strong leadership, business, and planning skills. May be responsible for multiple on-premises and cloud-based applications and for ensuring system stability and availability including disaster recovery scenarios. This position also prioritizes levels of support based on customer requirements, staffing, and system utilization and stability, and redirect resources in response to new or changing customer needs.
The Supervisor of Oracle Applications will oversee the daily operations, support, and enhancement of Oracle E-Business Suite and related systems. This role ensures system stability, user satisfaction, and timely delivery of application changes and projects. The position requires strong functional and technical understanding of Oracle Applications, leadership skills, and collaboration across departments to optimize business processes.
POSITION DIMENSIONS
The incumbent does not have accountability for budgets but may assist their manager with managing the department's budget. The incumbent has direct supervisory responsibility for up to ten employees. The incumbent frequently exchanges information with professional level personnel, members of Corporate and Division management teams, department managers, outside consultants, vendors and contractors, and infrequently exchanges information with officers. This individual must be able to effectively communicate in both a technical and non-technical manner with employees from all levels and departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. This position requires organizational, leadership, and project planning skills, and six plus years of relevant work experience.
Utility industry experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science from an accredited university is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of key Oracle modules such as Financials, Procurement, Human Resources, and Supply Chain.
• Strong skills in PL/SQL programming with proficiency in SQL, Oracle Forms, XML/BI Publisher, OBIEE, and Oracle Workflow are required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Coordinate research and evaluation of product and service alternatives using appropriate methodology to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts
• Review and approve system test plans and ensure test strategies involve appropriate integration and process components
• Provide guidance and recommendations in the development of system requirements, support, testing, and programming processes and standards
• Provide guidance and recommendations in support of Company projects involving Company technology strategies
• Communicate with top-level project sponsors and leaders regarding status of specific projects and/or project tasks
• Analyze and report on team resource allocation and plan future staffing needs
• Establish measurable individual and team goals that are aligned with business objectives; manage to those objectives
• Coordinate the activities of assigned staff and prioritizes multiple projects
• Make recommendations regarding tools, techniques, and methodologies
• Receive escalated application issues and interact with business units to determine the impact and potential resolution; identify a need to further escalate to other technical teams when necessary; keep customers informed of progress
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction; manage customer expectations; perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
• Ensure that appropriate deliverables are being prepared in accordance with Company methodologies, and that progress and problems are reported and resolved in a timely manner
• Manage the analysis, prioritization, development, and implementation of change requests, upgrades, patches, and maintenance actions; ensure appropriate coordination, communication and approval
• Monitor team's incident and change request aging reports; ensure timely resolution and completion of team's assigned tickets; and ensure backlog is managed
• Review functional and technical designs created by team members, ensuring adherence to department standards and best practices
• Ensure creation and upkeep of system documentation, models, and diagrams
• Perform and ensure timely formal and informal communications with assigned business area representatives, support group personnel, project teams, supplier representatives, and outside organizations
• Ensure that departmental personnel have equipment, supplies, tools, and t raining needed to perform assignments efficiently and effectively
• Plan, coordinate, and participate in technology recovery and departmental emergency management planning, rehearsals, and execution as assigned
• Read, comprehend, and approve technical documentation
• Present technical concepts and projects to technical and non-technical staff
• Develop and apply operational policies and procedures appropriately
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
• Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC): analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Drive performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization across Oracle Forms, Reports, and PL/SQL components.
• Work closely with DBAs and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and scalability.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan, oversee, organize, schedule, and monitor staff assignments to assure completion of work within scope, schedule, and department quality expectations
• Manage projects, with own staff or in matrix managed structure, including setting goals and priorities and creating and managing project plans, schedules, resource allocations and risk
• Demonstrate a high-level understanding of customers' needs and business practices and develop innovative solutions for meeting those needs
• Produce results in timely and efficient manner for own work and work of direct reports
• Select and utilize appropriate troubleshooting approaches to address customer specific issues in a comprehensive and useful manner, display a broad grasp of the relevant technical concepts, and incorporate these concepts into pragmatic solutions for customers.
• Responsible for teams conducting analysis, system design, development, configuration, modification, testing, release, maintenance, and integration of software application systems
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Oracle Applications support team.
• Ensure the stability, performance, and security of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and related enterprise applications.
• Work closely with IT infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
• Provide on-call support
SALARY DETAILS
Las Vegas: $107,387 - $161,081
