Staff Accountant

Position Summary:

NACDS is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the daily operations of the Finance department by performing transactional accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with NACDS policies and procedures. This role is critical to the integrity of NACDS's financial reporting and supports budgeting, audits, and reconciliation processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP,. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial services.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, overtime eligible position.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and post journal entries using Acumatica financial software, including Concur imports for direct bill and credit card expenses.
• Ensure proper coding of transactions with NACDS entity codes and reference numbers.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Process incoming payments and reconcile underpaid accounts using internal accounting tools.
• Support invoice generation for sponsorships, meetings, registrations, and miscellaneous items.
• Monitor A/R aging and assist with collections.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and documentation for NACDS and subsidiary audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
• Utilize Acumatica and Concur systems for transaction processing and reporting.
• Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and import templates.
• Generate monthly financial reports for senior management.
• Support budget preparation and forecasting activities.
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher in related field or equivalent work experience
• Prior experience with non-profit or trade association
• Knowledge of accrual accounting principles is essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally across various audiences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated

Base Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
