Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our growing mid-size CPA firm in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will lead our tax department, manage complex tax engagements, and contribute to the firm's strategic growth in tax services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the tax department's operations
  2. Lead complex tax planning and compliance engagements for high-net-worth individuals and businesses
  3. Review tax returns, research memos, and other deliverables
  4. Develop and maintain client relationships
  5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  6. Stay current with tax laws and regulations, implementing changes as needed
  7. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in tax services
  8. Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive client solutions
  9. Contribute to the firm's thought leadership in tax matters

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's in Taxation preferred)
  2. CPA certification
  3. 10+ years of public accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a tax managerial role
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws
  5. Experience with tax software and research tools
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills
  7. Excellent communication and client service abilities
  8. Proven track record in business development

Preferred Skills:

  2. Knowledge of industry-specific tax issues
  3. Public speaking or teaching experience
