Position Overview
An AllSet Floater Instructor is a lifelong learner, educator, and role model prepared to substitute local classes and accept additional instructional schedules as they arise. After completing paid onboarding (~6.5 hours), they stay in close communication with AllSet leadership to step in for planned and unplanned absences.
When instructing, they use their expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication to create inclusive, student-centered learning experiences that build confidence, foster skills, and ignite a lifelong love of learning. Equipped with AllSet curriculum and materials, they prepare and deliver excellent instruction for TK-6th grade students. They actively engage with ongoing paid professional development to grow their educator mindset, skill set, and toolset.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Engaging, Equity-Centered Instruction
- Deliver hands-on, differentiated learning experiences across STEM, Arts, Life Skills, and Movement that are inclusive, accessible, and developmentally appropriate.
- Create safe, culturally responsive classroom environments that promote growth mindsets, curiosity, and creative exploration.
- Continuously adapt lessons to meet diverse learners' needs using scaffolded instruction and trauma-informed practices.
Participate in Professional Growth and Collaborative Practices
- Complete required onboarding and program-specific training before teaching.
- Engage in paid, self-paced Set for Success professional development.
- Collaborate with program staff and partners through AllSet's continuous quality improvement and partnership model, listening, reflecting, and iterating to elevate instructional excellence.
Champion Student and Community Well-being
- Prioritize the physical, emotional, and mental safety of students in all instructional decisions.
- Encourage student voice and leadership through project-based learning, reflection, and scaffolded opportunities for self-expression and metacognition.
- Advocate for equity and inclusion by honoring diverse identities and backgrounds, and embedding culturally responsive language and materials throughout instruction.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in education, youth development, arts, or relevant enrichment fields—across TK–6 settings is ideal.
- Prior exposure to inclusive, differentiated, project-based, or equity-driven instruction preferred.
- Experience in collaboratively reflecting and adapting instructional practices through feedback is a plus.

- Strong facilitation and instructional design skills—able to engage learners via hands-on, scaffolded, and growth-mindset approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities—building trust with students, families, and team members in diverse communities.

- Capacity to integrate trauma-informed and restorative practices within inclusive learning environments.

Requirements
AllSet Instructors meet all requirements, including:
- Live Scan Fingerprinting (Education Code Section
- TB Testing with current documentation of negative TB Test results
- Mandated Reporter Training: Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (California Penal Code §§ 11164 – 11174)
- Passing Score on CODESP ParaProfessional Exam or Proof of Degree with 48 units (2 year program)
