Responsibilities
Evaluate product lines, manages vendor relationships, negotiates pricing, terms of purchase, promotional support, purchase rebates and discounts, monitors region/location performance, and assists, or is directly involved in purchasing door and millwork products in support of multiple door shop locations.
Advises and guides branches on market conditions, forecasting, inventory management, margin improvement, and coordinates block buys to leverage scale. Maintain Division SKU file on assigned product lines. Assist with training of Location Product Managers, supports margin improvement goals, turns, GMROI targets, and baseline measurements. Responsible for expanding vendor relationships and growing location sales. Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or with teams/groups. Manages the procurement and sales of millwork. Works with vendors on supply and pricing. Meets with customers (alongside local Boise Cascade representatives) to develop direct and out of warehouse Millwork programs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion. 10 years in the Building Materials Industry.
Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years in commodity wood products purchasing or lumber-related purchasing and/or sales or general line product management in the building materials industry. BMD location experience a plus. Ability to travel 30% of the time.
