Featured Assistant Coach Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Assistant Coach for Men's and Women's Track & Field to join our athletics team.
The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in the leadership and development of a comprehensive NCAA Division III track & field program. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with training and practice sessions
- Providing event-specific coaching
- Supporting recruiting efforts
- Contributing to program administration
The successful candidate will help foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and student-athlete success both on and off the track. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on student-athletes while supporting the continued growth of Rensselaer's Track & Field program
Expected hiring range for Assistant Coach for Men's and Women's Track & Field: $16.00

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: One (1) year of related experience
- Valid US Driver License
- Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.
- Pre-employment physical required
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the specified sports program.
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
- Familiarity of athletic recruitment methods and techniques.
- Ability to guide student-athletes in area of specialty.
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain appropriate contacts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to identify athletic skill levels of potential student athletes
Shift
Varies to include evenings and weekends
Travel
Occasional overnight travel may be required (10% or less)
Driving
Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use
Salary Range/Rate
Expected hiring range: $16.00 per hour
This is a full-time, 10-month position (40 hours per week for 40 weeks) that offers on-campus housing, benefits and pays $16.00 per hour. This is a fixed-term opportunity with the potential to be extended for the following year.

This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer's good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
