Pay Range: $48 per hour

Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush's anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.

Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery including evaluation, intervention planning, implementation, and reviewing outcome evaluation. The Occupational Therapist (OT) is an active participant in the interdisciplinary team. The OT meets the requirements of all internal and external regulatory bodies. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Initial Certification by NBCOT as an OTR
  • Meets all state regulatory requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited ACOTE OT Program.
  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and push while assisting with patient care.

Responsibilities:

1. Directs the evaluation process including determining the need for services, defining problems within the domain of OT, determine goals, and establishes treatment priorities.

2. Interprets the information provided by the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) and integrates the information into the evaluation as appropriate.

  1. Develops the intervention plan in collaboration with all team members.
  2. Implements the intervention plan.
  3. Determines the need to modify, continue or discontinue services.

  4. Selects implements and makes modifications to therapeutic activities and interventions that are consistent with competency levels and client goals and their social-cultural context.

  5. Delegates responsibilities to COTA within guidelines of RUMC.

  6. Maintains departmental productivity standards.

  7. Demonstrates ability to safely lift and/or move therapy equipment.

  8. Demonstrates ability to maintain patient safety.

  9. Demonstrates the ICARE values with patients, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members.

  10. Adheres to policies and procedures.

  11. Maintains accurate and timely patient documentation.
  12. Participates in continuous quality improvement processes and program evaluation.
  13. Supervises OT practicum, level I and level II OT students and other students as directed.
  14. Provides proof of completed documents related to health and education requirements.
  15. Identifies and pursues own professional growth and development.
  16. Functions according to the AOTA Code of Ethics and standards of the profession.
  17. Supports the practice of practitioner-teacher-investigator model by teaching and following evidenced based practice.
