Sever Assistant/ Food Runner Requirements:

  • Fine dining restaurant experience preferred
  • Must be passionate about providing excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table mis en place
  • Ability to understand and speak English to comprehend basic guest requests
  • Must be able to maintain your balance while carrying plates, able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must have ability to work well in a fast paced environment, have a calm and professional demeanor
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work a variety of scheduled shifts, based on the needs of the restaurant
  • Must be a team player

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • As a Food Runner/ Server Assistant, you would be responsible for setting and clearing dining tables and stocking service stations, assist food servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Expediting food during service
  • Set and prepare tables for dining, including, but not limited to, folding napkins, cleaning and placing tableware, serving water, etc.
  • Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting before food is delivered
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of dishes and ingredients and be able to explain the menu items to guests
  • Must exhibit food & basic service knowledge including steps of service
  • Constantly monitor and observe guests dining experience, including but not limited to communicating with expeditor and servers about firing and ticket time between each course, as well as checking the clearing time for the tables
  • Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning
  • Perform general cleaning tasks

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
