The Role
The Senior Business Process Analyst is a critical role responsible for mapping, analyzing, and optimizing business processes across the organization. This individual will work collaboratively with internal functions and client-facing teams to create clear, detailed, and actionable process documentation. The primary objectives of this role are to analyze existing client workflows to design improved, future-state solutions that meet their true business needs. This is a foundational role for building a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $115,000 - $180,000 (base salary) + bonus + equity + benefits.

Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additionally, these ranges reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without requiring current or future visa sponsorship (for example, employment-based visas such as H-1B, F-1/OPT, or similar), and must be authorized to begin work in the U.S. on their first day of employment.

What You'll Do

  • Process Discovery and Analysis:

  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and sessions with subject matter experts (SMEs) to elicit and clearly define "as-is" business processes

  • Analyze existing workflows to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Perform gap analysis between current processes and desired outcomes, especially in the context of client needs and GSI capabilities

  • Process Mapping and Documentation:

  • Create detailed, standardized process maps and workflow diagrams using industry-standard notations like BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)

  • Develop and maintain a central repository of process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process narratives, and service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and sufficient for an external party (like a GSI) to understand and execute the process with minimal ambiguity

  • Process Re-engineering and Optimization:

  • Collaborative with stakeholders to map out and document proposed "to-be" processes that improve efficiency, reduce cost, enhance quality, and increase scalability

  • Identify impacted teams in order to build consensus for change
  • Align with R&D leads on success measurement of the proposed changes

  • GSI and Outsourcing Enablement:

  • Collaborate with Partner Platform PM to facilitate process knowledge transfer to GSI partners

  • Prepare comprehensive "process packages" for outsourcing, including maps, SOPs, performance metrics, and exception handling protocols
  • Collaborate with Product and Product Operations to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the health and effectiveness of outsourced processes

  • Client Solution Transformation:

  • Work alongside Design teams, Project Managers, and client-facing teams to model a client's existing processes and workflows

  • Translate client pain points and business goals into concrete process requirements and future-state solution designs on our company's platform
  • Facilitate discussions that help bridge the gap between what a client has and what they truly need

Who You Are

  • Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 6+ years of experience in a dedicated Business Process Analyst, Business Process Improvement, or similar role
  • Proven proficiency with process mapping tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Miro) and methodologies (e.g., BPMN, UML)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; able to see the big picture while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to interview SMEs and lead workshops effectively
  • Strong technical writing skills, capable of producing clear and unambiguous documentation

  • Preferred:

  • Certification in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) or a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

  • Direct experience preparing processes for BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) or working with GSIs
  • Experience in a client-facing or consulting role
  • Familiarity with workflow automation technologies
