GIS Marketing and Communications Intern

The GIS Marketing and Communications intern will help to promote the mission of API Global Industry Services (GIS) and the division's products and services. GIS is responsible for standards setting, certification, training, publications, and safety programs for industry operations. GIS works with leading industry subject-matter experts to develop and maintain more than 800 Standards and Recommended Practices for the natural gas and oil industry that drive safety, environmental protection, and sustainability across industry operations.
The intern helps with executive-level marketing and communications tactics that ultimately drive revenue and awareness for GIS programs.
Projects and Tasks
- Campaign analytics tracking
- Supporting sponsored content logistics for webinar/podcasts
- Copy writing for emails, newsletter teasers, headlines, blogs, etc.
- Social media assistance to include:
- Canva image creation design
- Content development
- Scheduling/planning assistance
- Marketing Automation (Hubspot) assistance setting up email campaigns, forms, landing pages, etc.
- Marketing research to identify potential new outlets for advertising, keyword research for Pay Per Click campaigns and paid social media ads
- Tradeshow booth logistics assistance
Qualifications
- Working towards a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or similar degree.
Physical Requirements
- Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
- Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
- Transport items and equipment up to 25 lbs. on occasion
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25%
