About the Role

As
VP of Legal
, you will oversee all legal matters across the organization, including transactions, compliance, contracts, corporate governance, and risk management. You will work closely with the CEO, executive team, and operating leaders to support growth while ensuring strong legal foundations across all markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the company's senior legal advisor and strategic business partner
  • Oversee all real estate transaction matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and joint ventures
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (purchase agreements, vendor agreements, partnerships, employment agreements, NDAs, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all operating markets
  • Build and manage relationships with outside counsel, title companies, lenders, and regulatory bodies
  • Develop internal legal processes, templates, and risk-mitigation frameworks to support scale
  • Advise leadership on corporate governance, entity structuring, and risk exposure
  • Support HR and people operations on employment law, contractor structures, and policy development
  • Proactively identify legal risks and provide pragmatic, business-oriented solutions

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing
  • 8+ years of legal experience, with strong preference for real estate, corporate, or transactional law
  • Experience in real estate investment, private equity, construction, or multi-state operations highly preferred
  • Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong commercial judgment with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
